A Saab Story

I had to take this photo on the run, so it's a bit washed out in parts.  But I think you can fill in the blanks. :)

The Champagne of Beers

Find the champagne of beers at Yum! in St Louis Park.

Free child with every party

Book a party at Como Town next summer and get a free child.  Or, more likely, free admission for the birthday boy or girl.

Today's special: one extra hour

Today's special at the Neighborhood Cafe is one extra hour. If that doesn't fill you up, try the mac and cheese made with smoked gouda.

Non-fugitive bathrooms

These bathrooms are not for fugitives.

Just turn them off

This creative solution for the audience member who forgets to turn their cell phone off is at Huge Theater in Uptown.  Come by for a show, but just remember to turn your ringer off. :)

A Reason to Tip Well

Hopefully this is the college textbook fund and not the college beer fund. . .

That's plenty

I could be biased since I also live on a city street that people often speed on - or maybe I'm getting grumpier as I get older - but this sign on Grand Ave was too cute to pass up.

The plant speaks

You'd be pretty angry if someone kept sticking cigarette butts on your shoulder too.

Drop your pants

I wish I could come up with a caption to improve this sign outside Anderson Cleaners on Grand Ave.

Wilde Roast This Way

Purist photographers would say that a photo you have to explain is incomplete but I think this one is worthy of posting. Whoever was blurring out the sign at the old Wilde Roast location left this pointer to the new location - which is in fact down just down Hennepin a little ways.

Not so new

Unfortunately, the 'new man' store is not so new. . .or even open.

The neighborhood CIA office

Not the Central Intelligence agency, silly. It's the Central Insurance Agency in Cambridge, MN. (Okay, yes, Cambridge isn't exactly in the Twin Cities. But it's just too cool to pass up.)

Hot enough for you?

This is for everyone who complained when it was too cold. :)

Notes to Self

Note to self: No smoking and remember to stop the engine during refueling.

Indoor Garage sales

A little rain never stopped any Minnesotan.

Don't be a soup skimmer

I wasn't aware of the nefarious criminal breed known as the soup skimmer, but apparently they frequent the Hampden Park Co-op.

Other balloons must get high somewhere else

Only balloons purchased in the floral section of this grocery story may use the helium here - other balloons must get high somewhere else.

So that's where the elves go in the off-season. . .

My Dad is Selling All of My Toys

Yes, all over the Bryn Mawr neighborhood this weekend there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth as basements were emptied and put on display at the Bryn Mawr Festival of Garage Sales.

The snow is gone - or is it?

I grabbed this shot this morning while passing a church. The snow was gone yesterday and this morning it was back and now it's gone again. . .phew. Nothing like Minnesota weather for drama.

Do not sale

I don't want to make fun of Savers, since thrift-shopping is one of my favorite habits. And Savers is one of best places to do it. The clothing is organized by size and color so you can find cheap used clothes at good prices. . .in your size.

But I just couldn't pass this one up. It's probably one of the few places in the cities where you would need to label the wheelchair for shoppers in the front as not for sale.

Kittens this way

Hopefully all of the kittens at the Humane Society have been adopted since I took this picture.

Alien invasion by bus

Found this at a bus stop in Saint Paul. I think this means that aliens are invading the Twin Cities using the bus system.

The good news is they'll only be able to take over downtown and the Mall of America. And they'll be ten minutes late, so that should give us plenty of time to prepare.

Does anybody else find this disturbing?

I like M&M's as much as the next girl - but I'm kind of wondering if anyone else is disturbed by the idea of pulling M&M's from the 'flesh' of an M&M character?
